Ego Nwodim is the latest Saturday Night Live cast member to exit the show.
“The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight. But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL,” the comedian, 37, wrote in an Instagram post on Friday, September 12.
“I am immensely grateful to Lorne [Michaels] for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship,” Nwodim continued.
“Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories (and that laughter) with me always ✨🙏🏾😘 now invite me to your weddings please!!!” she concluded her heartfelt statement.
Nwodim first joined the long-running sketch comedy series in 2018 for season 44.

As the National Enquirer previously reported, multiple cast members from season 50 have already departed the late-night program, including Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Michael Longfellow, and Heidi Gardner.
However, there will still be a handful of returning faces for season 51, as Deadline reported earlier this week that Michael Che and Colin Jost will be back at the Weekend Update desk.
Other returning cast members include Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, and featured players Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.
Five new faces — Ben Marshall, Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska — will also be welcomed into season 51.
