Actress Liz Hurley portrays a wealthy benefactor in a new reality game show, which sees contestants competefor a part of her fortune.

In reality, the 60 year old actress wishes her loved ones would spend their money on themselves before passing away and leave her with nothing. Regrettably for her son Damian, that’s exactly what she might do.

Liz, 60, who features in Channel 4’s series The Inheritance alongside Rob Rinder, told HELLO that she may not leave anythng to anyone when she passes away including her beloved son.

She said, “I have a set of tiny porcelain coffee cups which belonged to my favourite great aunt — I think of her with every espresso.

“But I want everyone I love to check out on empty, having spent every penny on enjoying themselves. I’m not desperate to inherit anything.”

Regarding her 23 year old son’s inheritance, she remarks: “I mean what makes you think I believe in passing anything on? I might go out on empty, you never know.”

In The Inheritance, Liz embodies a glamorous benefactor known solely as The Deceased, who has recorded video messages for the participants from beyond the grave, reports The Mirror.

Thirteen strangers are dispatched to a stately home to compete for a portion of her wealth. To unlock money from The Inheritance, players must collaborate as a team to accomplish a series of challenges.

The superior their performance, the more money is unlocked. Liz comments: “I’ve died on screen quite a few times, but I don’t recall lying in a coffin before. I quite enjoyed it actually, it was very restful.

“My character, she’s basically known she was dying and video-taped a lot of herself in order for the contestants to see her so she could harangue them from the grave. I think it’s such a camp thing to do, to video yourself.

“I mean, I may do it myself. Just stash something in the cloud.”

The executor of The Deceased’s will is Robert Rinder, the criminal barrister who hosted the ITV show Judge Rinder.

Liz said, “I’ve enjoyed working with Rob very much. I was a fan of his anyway. We’ve followed each other on Instagram. He’s great. I really like him, he’s fabulous.

“We didn’t actually work together before on this, because I’m ‘dead’. All mine is pre-recorded, so I actually don’t have any live action. But we were on the set together.

“It makes me sound very shallow, but I loved the costumes very much and I liked my character very much. She’s not me, I can see some similarities in places — I don’t think she suffers fools gladly.

“I thought it was quite funny that she pre-recorded these instructions. So she pre-recorded herself walking around her estate and I found that quite amusing. I think it’s actually quite a nice thing to do. I can see people being inspired by it.”

Liz confesses that when producers initially contacted her, she harbored reservations. She explained, “I didn’t really understand it at first. They had to speak very slowly and clearly for some time for me to catch up. On the initial deck of graphics, my character wasn’t glamorous — she was very old, like 110.

“But they changed that, then added Robert and this stately home into the mix and I thought it was fabulous. I watched an episode of The Traitors and I couldn’t have loved it more. I thought, actually, yes, this sounds amazing. What a fantastic thing to do in the summer.

“This is a new format, and yes, there might be echoes of other games, but it feels fresh, original, and like the birth of an authentic human experiment.”

Beyond her professional commitments, Liz, who was formerly wed to Arun Nayar and previously romanced Shane Warne and Hugh Grant, has embarked on a fresh relationship with country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, 64.

After making their romance official in April, the pair have graced red carpet appearances together, including The Inheritance premiere, and have been photographed enjoying casual meals at neighborhood pubs close to Liz’s £6 million estate in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

Liz reveals: “Billy and I have had most of the summer off. We’ve seen both his daughters [Miley and Noah] play in London, which was great. He’s very supportive and that feels nice.

“We’ve adopted two tortoises, and I have become something of a bird watcher. We’ve just seen some goshawks. They’re unbelievable. Very, very rare. There are only 1,000 nesting pairs in the UK. Joking about her rural bliss, she says sarcastically: “I have a really interesting life. Wild. Parties every night.”

Shooting The Inheritance in the countryside proved perfect for Liz. She explains: “It was beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. It was a pleasure to be there. It was early summer, the weather was fantastic.”

She has also expressed her passion for outdoor activities, revealing how she trims hedges to stay in shape. She notes: “I don’t go to the gym, but I do try really hard to move a lot, and often. I don’t really sit down.

“I enjoy myself. I do like to eat, but I have an obsession with not eating processed food. The thing is about looking after yourself, being active properly, just being productive.”
