Jazz pianist Elliot Steger and his Trio have a date early next month at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford.
Steger, a local jazz pianist and composer, will bring his Trio back to the PCA at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, according to a community announcement. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln St. venue. Food and drink are welcome.
Steger started formal classical piano lessons at age 4. But when it was time to decide whether to pursue a career in music or in the sciences, he chose a day job as a physician, according to the announcement.
At about age 30, Steger began what became 20 years of lessons from a Berklee College of Music professor. He started composing and performing more, and is now credited with multiple CDs and more than 100 song compositions, according to the announcement.
Steger was the featured artist on radio station WICN’s Jazz New England program and was a finalist for best jazz instrumental song of the year. His music can be found on Spotify, Amazon Music and YouTube.
For the June 6 performance, Steger will be joined by Jon Hazilla, a professor at the Berklee College of Music and performer at numerous International Jazz festivals, on drums; and David Landoni, a music professor at UMass Boston who has toured internationally including performing with the Artie Shaw Orchestra, on acoustic bass, according to the announcement.
Tickets for the June 6 show are $20 in advance for members; $22 for non-members; and $25 at the door, if available. The event will feature cabaret seating. For tickets and more information, visit pcawestford.org.
