EXCLUSIVE: After 19 years at UTA, where he was a partner in the Motion Picture Literary department, Emerson Davis has transitioned to management as a partner at Redefine Entertainment.
Davis was a homegrown talent for UTA who joined the agency as an agent trainee in the fall of 2006 and had been there ever since. The Yale University grad elevated to MP Lit Agent in 2010 and made Partner in 2020. News of his move to Redefine Entertainment comes as the company celebrates its five-year anniversary.
In a statement on their new hire, Redefine partners Michael Botti, Tony Gil, Max Goldfarb, & Jairo Alvarado said, “We started this company 5 years ago based on the philosophy that curating, and supporting singular voices could cut through the noise of a crowded marketplace. Founded in January 2021, Redefine Entertainment focuses on representing cultural thought leaders in the lit space. The firm represents creators such as Lulu Wang, Malcolm Spellman, Angel Soto, Vivienne Medrano, Dalan Musson, John Swetnam, Erika Lippoldt & Bo Yeon Kim, Jingyi Shao, Juel Taylor & Tony Rettenmaier, Owen Dennis, Eva Sørhaug, and Kwame Kwei-Armah.
