Not even death can keep Daenerys and Khal Drogo apart.
Former Game of Thrones costars Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa had a surprise reunion on Thursday in New York City while promoting their respective new projects — Clarke’s spy series Ponies, and Momoa’s movie The Wrecking Crew. And the actors shared their enduring love for each other with a sweet post on social media.
Clarke, 39, was filming an appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show, and revealed that Momoa, 46, stopped by her dressing room unexpectedly to say hello. Clarke then posted a photo of their reunion on her Instagram, calling Momoa her “dragon daddy” in the caption.

“New York has given me so many things to be grateful for on this trip and just when I thought it couldn’t be better … look who walked into my dressing room,” Clarke wrote, along with the hashtag, “We still got it.”
Momoa then commented on her post, “Love u Khalessi,” with four heart emojis. “Miss u.”

We won’t fault Momoa for misspelling Daenerys’ nickname — it has been nearly 15 years since he starred on Game of Thrones with Clarke, after all. But the two actors have remained good friends since Momoa’s tragic onscreen death in the season 1 finale of HBO’s hit fantasy series (Clarke’s character survived until her controversial death in the final season).
The two last reunited in 2021, with both Clarke and Momoa posting about it on social media while celebrating Game of Thrones co-creator David Benioff’s birthday.
“When your sun and stars rolls into town you check that he can still bench press a khaleesi,” Clarke wrote on social media with a photo of him carrying her in his arms.
“MOON OF MY LIFE,” Momoa responded. “You are wonderful.”

Clarke later revealed that Momoa got everyone “as drunk as humanly possible” during that get-together.
“I mean, I’ve never tried so many different whiskeys in my entire life,” the actress said weeks later. “There were a couple that were really nice, and there were a couple that were paint stripper, and I literally was like, ‘Yeah I’m gonna down you, get hair on your chest.’ It was funny.”
