NFA students take third place at CT ProStart Invitational competition

If you like seafood, then you won’t want to miss the 2nd Annual Savor New England event at Mohegan Sun on June 20.
Savor New England showcases some of the region’s top culinary talent, with celebrity chefs and a mix of New England vendors, including Mohegan Sun’s new Reel Catch Food Truck, which serves lobster rolls, fish and chips, and clam chowder.
“From fresh shellfish and lobster rolls to baked goods and specialty treats, guests can experience the best of the region in one place,” a Mohegan Sun press release said.
The event will also feature live performances by Juice Box and Souls on Fire.
Vendors in attendance at Savor New England
Vendors will include Archie Moore’s, Beauty & Essex, Frozen Cheeks Frosty Treats, CT Chowder Bus, Ocean State Shellfish Cooperative, Reel Catch, Sift Bake Shop and Wicked Southern Coffee.
Celebrity chefs to appear at Savor New England
The following celebrity chefs will be in attendance at Savor New England, according to the press release:
- Will Gilson: Chef and co-owner of the popular Cambridge, Massachusetts, restaurant Puritan & Company
- Michele Ragussis: Popular chef and Food Network personality known for her Greek/Italian cuisine and New England influence
- Adam Young: Award-winning pastry chef and founder of Sift Bake Shop
- Nick Calias: Award-winning certified chef and director of food and beverage at The Colonnade Hotel in Boston
The chefs will offer signature food specials to guests, and Ragussis, Gilson and Calias will also compete in the Chowder Competition.
When, where is Savor New England?
Savor New England will take place on the Sun Patio at Mohegan Sun from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. According to Mohegan Sun’s website, the most convenient parking for events on the Sun Patio are the Indian Summer Garage and the Riverview Parking Garage.
Tickets to Savor New England can be purchased on Mohegan Sun’s website. Admission includes entry; food and beverages will be available for purchase.
