Steinway ‘Seasons’

The Close Up! Steinway Salon Chamber Series focuses on “Four Seasons,” 4 p.m. Saturday at 14901 Beau Vue Drive, Little Rock.

Drew Irvin, violin, and Gjergji Gaqi, piano, will play the Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major, op.24, “Spring,” by Ludwig van Beethoven; Linnaea Brophy, violin; Travis Scharer, cello; and Jaeyeon Park, piano, will play the Piano Trio No. 4 in C major, “Lovisa,” by Jean Sibelius; Nophachai Cholthitchanta, clarinet, and Naoki Hakutani, piano, will perform the Clarinet Sonata No. 2 in E-flat major, op.120 No. 2, by Johannes Brahms; and soprano Amy R. Porter will sing selections from Franz Schubert’s song cycle “Die Winterreise” with pianist Mary J. Trotter.

‘Dancing With Beethoven’

The Conway Symphony Orchestra and conductor Israel Getzov offer a program titled “Dancing With Beethoven,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Central Arkansas, 2150 Bruce St. at Donaghey Avenue, Conway.

The dance-inspired program includes the “Can-Can” from “Orpheus in the Underworld” by Jacques Offenbach, “Danzon No. 2” by Arturo Marquez, “Hoedown” from “Rodeo” by Aaron Copland and the Symphony No. 7 in A major, op.92, by Ludwig van Beethoven. A brief meet-the-musicians reception with light refreshments in the lobby will follow.

Paintings by Dennis McCann, Elizabeth Weber and Steven Wise are among the works on display through Feb. 28, starting with a 5-9 p.m. Hot Springs Gallery Walk reception Friday at Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827A Central Ave., Hot Springs. Black Family Expo

The Central Arkansas Library System Main Library, 100 S. Rock St., Little Rock hosts the fourth annual Black Family Expo, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday bringing together community organizations, cultural leaders and families “to uplift, educate, and empower families in honor of Black History Month,” according to a news release.

Families can share memorabilia, including photographs and historical documents; CALS Roberts Library staff will assist attendees to digitize up to five items at the Mobile Memory Lab station and each family will receive a complimentary flash drive with their digitized items. Families can take souvenir family photographs, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

The expo will also feature arts and crafts activities, including painting frames for family photos; and raffle giveaways, including books, journals, T-shirts and other items celebrating Black History Month. The CALS Cruiser bookmobile and a CALS Used Book Store pop-up will be on site. The Be Mighty team will also have a food demonstration.
