Shadowy and consuming, “bad dreams” circles the themes of betrayal and emotional exhaustion and finds ENVYYOU at their most vulnerable. Unfolding like a sleepless night spent replaying every moment you wish you could forget, ENVYYOU deliver their second single following “chrome butterflies,” their debut release in their new lineup after signing to Warner Records Sweden.
Still fresh off signing to Warner Records Sweden and with “bad dreams” as their second offering, vocalist Oliver Narbe pulls the curtain back:
“‘bad dreams’ just felt like a great gateway song for this new, more metal-leaning sound we are heading towards with the band. It embodies the essence of our earlier stuff while still being put in this new packaging.
“It is also really exciting to be able to put out this track that only came about a couple of months ago, which is very rare for us. Usually, our tracks sit on a hard drive for at least a year before they see the light of day. I think finally being signed and having a team helping to move things along has been a great help to us. We’re super happy about the signing this far, and the collaboration has felt very natural, even though we have gotten so used to doing it all ourselves over the years.”
