Predator: Badlands is tearing up the box office — and in the best way possible. The movie has roared past expectations with a global opening of $80 million, half of which comes from international markets. That’s the biggest worldwide debut in the entire Predator franchise, which has been going strong (and gory) for nearly four decades.
The movie stars Elle Fanning as Thia, who is a damaged Weyland-Yutani synthetic. With a production budget of $105 million, Badlands is the most expensive Predator movie ever made (via The Numbers). Not bad for a creature feature that’s been around since Arnold Schwarzenegger first yelled, “Get to the choppa!”
