Former Prince Andrew is reportedly looking for a new home. The ex-Duke of York has been allegedly asked to vacate his Royal Lodge, where he has been staying for years. Additionally, it was claimed that he will be moving to a property in Sandringham. Now, as per a source, Andrew wanted a new home that is close to the royal family.

According to The Express, ex-Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will be travelling to Sandringham with the royal family. The former couple will reportedly stay at the small and “secluded” cottage known as Wood Farm. Moreover, the cottage is close enough to the main house. As such, the former Duke and Duchess of York can be involved in the festivities without staying together with the monarch.
There have also been rumors that King Charles’ brother might make Wood Farm his permanent home following his departure from Royal Lodge. However, this property has been allegedly refused. The source shared that it is “too close” to the rest of the royal family at Sandringham.
An earlier report also suggested that the 65-year-old will be shifting to the Marsh Farm home. The house is seven miles west of the king’s Sandringham House. A Sandringham estate no-fly zone has also been extended to cover the area over the former farm.
For the unaware, the former farm has a main house with two reception rooms and a kitchen, and multiple smaller separate buildings. According to The Sun, the place needs a lot of renovation, but the palace has allegedly said it will not provide the name of Andrew’s new home.
This is because the former prince is a “private citizen” and Sandringham is a “private estate.” A palace source stated, “There are GDPR and rights of privacy involved so we will not be providing the name of the property.” The source continued, “There are also security issues that are of relevance.”
Andrew reportedly agreed to give up his lease to Royal Lodge following years of pressure from the king and the royals, despite the “cast iron lease.” Palace sources mentioned that there has been no fixed date for his shifting to Sandringham.
