BRATTLEBORO — The Harmony Collective Artist Gallery will host an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1, to highlight a new exhibit, Origami & Beyond with Zarin Greenough.
Greenough explores the enhancement of larger origami models to reveal a parallel dimension. The subjects include fun and fanciful figures like a dinosaur with a saddle, a partially beaded origami fish, and a crane with a crescent moon.
“I was always folding paper but now I’m combining the paper origami with beading, fiber arts, and jewelry to create larger whimsical worlds,” Greenough said in a news release.
In addition to 3 dimensional figures, she makes earrings and buttons. She uses embellished origami figures and jewelry to take viewers to another realm where fantastical and fossil creatures are part of life.
Harmony Collective is located at 49 Elliot St.
