Netflix is heading back to the Plaza Hotel.
A new live-action Eloise movie is officially in the works, with Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creator Amy Sherman-Palladinoset to co-write and direct the project, and Ryan Reynolds on board to star and produce.
As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming film will feature newcomer Mae Schenk in the title role of Eloise, the mischievous six-year-old who famously lives at New York’s Plaza Hotel.
Reynolds will play an “original villainous character,” according to the outlet, marking a fresh twist on the classic children’s series by Kay Thompson and illustrator Hilary Knight.
The project will be produced by MRC and Reynolds’ company, Maximum Effort, which previously teamed up with Netflix on The Adam Project. Sherman-Palladino will direct and co-write the screenplay, bringing her signature wit and warmth to a new generation of Eloise fans.

What We Know So Far
