Described as White Lotus meets Ripley, Prime Video’s new revenge thriller is getting plenty of buzz before it’s even premiered.
Malice is an upcoming psychological thriller TV series from James Wood, which finds a “charismatic tutor” named Adam (Jack Whitehall) charming his way into the life of “the wealthy Tanner family while they’re on holiday in Greece,” per the Prime Video description.
“When the family’s nanny falls dangerously ill, Adam orchestrates his way in to their London home and his true vengeful nature begins to emerge…” it continues, with Adam turning ” Jamie Tanner (David Duchovny) and Nat (Carice Van Houten) against each other” while plotting to “bring down the entire family.”
Those who begin “digging deeper into his past” soon learn that Adam may be “responsible for all their recent disasters,” but the realization may come “too late” to “save” the family.
With a plot this captivating, fans were eager for the trailer, which brings the story to life from the page to the screen, set perfectly to an eerie rendition of The Turtles’ “Happy Together.”
“The Manny showed up,” Duchovny’s Jamie yells to his kids upon his first encounter with Adam, welcoming him to the family’s vacation, as Adam admits he’s “freeloading” and seeing how the “other half live.”
Things begin unraveling almost immediately after Adam’s arrival, and taking a sinister turn, as someone declares, “There’s something strange about him,” observing that “He’s always there.”
Duchovny’s Jamie later exclaims, “Someone’s out to get me, and I’m going to find out why.”
Fans immediately bolted to the comment section to reveal they would be watching for one main reason—TheX Files alum.
“David Duchovny (The X Files, Californication, Evolution), is so underrated. I love so much,” one wrote, as a second added, “Anything Duchovny is in, I’m in.”
“David Duchovny is the main watch here 🔥🔥🔥” someone else chimed in, with another comment echoing, “Ill Watch it just for your acting, David 🫂”

The involvement of Whitehall, an English comedian, wasn’t lost on fans either, with one stating, “I’ve never thought of Jack as a villain, but now I can’t unsee it. There’s something unhinged about him that I love.”
“Comedians make the best dramatic actors, Jack Whitehall looks like he’s gonna be amazing in this!! Holy Cow!!” another comment exclaimed, as someone else chimed in, “That’s Jack Whitehall?!!! Wow impressive!!”

Malice will feature six episodes and stream on Prime Video on Nov. 14. 2025.
