Football Ferns playmaker Macey Fraser has left her United States club, Utah Royals, after the mutual termination of her contract.
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) says Fraser’s release allows her “to pursue other opportunities”.
Fraser (23 made nine appearances in her two seasons with the Royals, of which four were in the starting line-up. She played 400 minutes for the club.

During her time as a Royal, Fraser received a call-up to the Football Ferns for the 2024 Paris Olympics and made her Olympic debut, but was forced to come off due to injury in the opening game against Canada.
Fraser landed a multi-year contract with the Royals in April 2024 in a deal which her Wellington Phoenix club described as ‘smashing’ the record transfer fee paid for a women’s A-League player.

Fraser had graduated from the Phoenix academy to sign a three-year professional agreement with the Nix in August 2023.
She has made eight appearances for the Football Ferns, scoring two goals.
