Former Dancing With the Stars pro Lindsay Arnold has spoken out after some fans criticized various aspects of the show’s Season 34 premiere.
Arnold began her video by saying that she’d seen a number of different videos of people trashing the show.
“Y’all are mean. The amount of videos I’ve seen [that are] literally trashing the pros, the troupe, the hosts and judges,” Arnold, 31, said in a TikTok uploaded on Sept. 18. “It’s making me sick. I literally feel sick to my stomach. You understand that these are real people, right?”
“This isn’t some made-up TV show, where they’re playing characters. This is not Conrad, Belly and Jeremiah, where we can just comment on their decisions and their choices and their lives,” she continued, referring to the main characters on The Summer I Turned Pretty.
“These are real people, who are doing a job that literally none of you could do,” she continued. “That’s what kills me, like ‘my hot take, I don’t think they did this good enough.’ Let’s see you do it. You couldn’t.”
Arnold was on Dancing With the Stars for 10 seasons as a pro and won one Mirrorball Trophy over the course of her time on the show. Now, she supports her younger sister, Rylee Arnold, who is competing as a pro for her third full season.
Lindsay received a lot of positive feedback on her video. In fact, even some of the current DWTS pros commented on the post.
“This,” wrote Rylee Arnold.
“YES,” added Witney Carson.
“Yes!!! Mic drop linds!!!!” said Brandon Armstrong’s wife, Brylee Arnold.
The second episode of Dancing With the Stars Season 34 will air on Tuesday, Sept. 23 and two couples will be going home.
