RedOctane Games, the new studio led by former Guitar Hero devs, has announced Stage Tour and surprise – it’s a new music rhythm game.

Stage Tour is in development for Windows PC (via Steam) and consoles with a release set for sometime this fall. More details on what consoles are planned will come later.

“Stage Tour is our love letter to rhythm gaming,” said Simon Ebejer, Head of Studio at RedOctane Games in a press release. “We want Stage Tour to feel familiar and authentic, but also fresh, utilizing modern technology to connect gamers with the music they love and enjoying a platform that evolves and grows over time. With new instruments and deep charting systems, we’re raising the bar on what we believe a rhythm game can be, while also catering to those wishing to simply enjoy a casual experience and have a good time.”

Gibson lifestyle and licensing senior manager Taylor Berryman added, “For a generation of players, rhythm games transformed music from something you listened to into something you lived—inspiring countless people to pick up real instruments and explore their creativity. Stage Tour is the next evolution of that influence. We’re thrilled to partner with RedOctane to reimagine what rhythm gaming can be and to spark deeper connection, creativity, and a lifelong love of music for generations to come.”

Here’s a rundown on the new game, plus its reveal trailer:
