Barbara Evans — who became a household name for starring on Teen Mom 2 alongside daughter Jenelle Evans — recently suffered a stroke and was hospitalized for the sickness.
TMZ reported on Monday, October 8, that Barbara has left the medical center and is recuperating at home.
According to the outlet, the former TV personality fell ill at her residence in North Carolina, and Jenelle rushed home to be with her family and to be by her mother’s side. The 33-year-old reality star has been living in Nevada for months.
Jenelle’s son Jace, 16, has been staying with the 72-year-old — however, he wasn’t with Barbara when she became sick, according to the U.S. Sun.

A source told The Sun that Jenelle’s sister, Ashley, also went to North Carolina, but she has now vacated the state. They added that Jace has been taking care of Barbara as she recovers.
Barbara appeared alongside her daughter on MTV’s famed reality series 16 and Pregnant in 2009. The two then made many appearances on the show’s spin-off Teen Mom 2 from 2011 until 2019.
The pair have had a rocky relationship over the years, as Barbara had custody over Jace from 2010 until 2023.

Janelle — who is also mom to Kaiser, 11, and Ensley, 8 — scored full custody over her son in 2023 following a contentious and lengthy court battle with her family.
Despite the living arrangement, Jace chose to stay with his grandmother.
As Star previously reported, Jace recently called his mother out and shared explosive texts between the two online. “I am finally putting out how my mother really is,” Jace wrote on Instagram back in August, calling her “crazy” and “really unstable.”
