Fort Worth

As people arrive in Cowtown for the 129th annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, they may see a celebrity or two at local restaurants.

The 23-day event, which is Jan. 16 to Feb. 7 at Dickies Arena and Will Rogers Memorial Center, draws visitors from around the world — including Hollywood.

Fort Worth has seen an influx of celebrities over the past few years due to “Landman” co-creator Taylor Sheridan moving a majority of his television productions to the city.

We can’t offer any guarantees for who you might see around town this rodeo season. But here are a few celebrities’ favorite restaurants and bars around Fort Worth.

🔥 In case you missed it…

‘Landman’

“Landman” has spent the last two years filming in and around Cowtown during the spring and summer months.

Series lead Billy Bob Thornton has spoken highly of Joe T. Garcia’s (2201 N. Commerce St.), the Stockyards Mexican restaurant that’s been around since the 1930s. The eatery is known for its margaritas and family-style dinner, which includes beef tacos and cheese enchiladas. Last year, “Landman” newcomer Sam Elliott was spotted at the restaurant as well.

Don Artemio (3268 W. 7th St.) in the Cultural District is loved by new cast member Guy Burnet, who plays Charlie Newsom. He raves about Don Artemio’s regional Northeast Mexican cuisine and ambiance.

Another favorite among the cast is 61 Osteria (500 W. 7th St.), an upscale Italian restaurant in downtown. Actors James Jordan, who plays oil rigger Dale Bradley, and Paulina Chávez, who plays Ariana, have both spoken highly about the eatery with hand-rolled pasta.

Andy Garcia said the European elegance of The Chumley House (3230 Camp Bowie Blvd.) and Paris 7th (3324 W. 7th St.) are some of his standouts while in Fort Worth. Both restaurants are located just minutes from the Stock Show grounds.

For Ainsley actress Michelle Randolph, she likes Mesero (4955 Gage Ave.) and The Press Cafe (4801 Edwards Ranch Road) at The Shops at Clearfork.

“Landman” co-creator Christian Wallace said he enjoys a smash burger from Gustos Burger Bar + More (1229 7th Ave.) off West Magnolia Avenue in Near Southside.

As far as bars go, Wallace highlighted the Austin-born dive bar Nickel City (212 S. Main St.) in Near Southside; The Durty Crow (2801 Crockett St.) off West 7th Street, and The Down N’ Out (150 W. Rosedale St.) near South Main Street.

Cattlemen’s Steak House (2458 N. Main St.) will be a familiar sight for “Landman” fans as the restaurant has appeared a few times in season 2. The eatery is co-owned by Sheridan and 101 Studios CEO David Glasser.

Jon Hamm, while shooting season 1, stopped by a few barbecue spots while in Cowtown, including the Michelin-recognized Goldee’s Barbecue (4645 Dick Price Road). He also swung by Curly’s Frozen Custard (4017 Camp Bowie Blvd.)

‘Lioness’

After filming its second season in Fort Worth in 2024, “Lioness” returned for production on its third season in fall 2025, and cameras are still rolling this year.

Actor Michael Kelly said he was blow away from the offerings at Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar (907 Foch St.) off West 7th Street. The restaurant does not take reservations and has daily specials.

For actress Genesis Rodriguez, she enjoys the local coffee scene and said Cherry Coffee (1121 W. Magnolia Ave.) in Near Southside was her favorite.

The 83-year-old actor has been seen several times in Fort Worth over the years. He regularly visits to update his helicopter pilot training at Bell Helicopter, and also starred in the “Yellowstone” prequel “1923,” which was shot here.

Ford dined at 61 Osteria in 2023 and Istanbul Grill (401 Throckmorton St.) the previous year. The latter describes its cuisine as “Turkish inspired food with an American twist.”

In 2018, Ford stopped by Thai Terrace (4220 W. Vickery Blvd.) and Grace (777 Main St.). Thai is known for its curry and pad thai, while Grace serves up standout steak and seafood dishes.
