KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Four members of the Kansas City Royals have been named finalists for a Silver Slugger after standout seasons in 2025.
Major League Baseball announced three finalists at each position on Thursday and the Royals had four representatives vying for the honor.
Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, catcher Salvador Perez, shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and third baseman Maikel Garcia have all been named finalists.
Pasquantino is up against Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Athletics rookie Nick Kurtz. His nomination comes following a 32-home run, 113-RBI season for the 28-year-old.
Perez, who also reached the 30 home run and 100 RBI marks, is a five-time Silver Slugger award winner and has been nominated once again following his age-35 season. He’s unlikely to win the award given Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh torched his record for most home runs in a single season by a catcher.

Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. won the Silver Slugger last season when he led MLB in hits and batting average. Again, the Royals star led MLB in hits in 2025. He’s up against Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette and Astros star Jeremy Pena.
Garcia, who typically plays third base and was an All-Star for the first time this season, is nominated for the Silver Slugger as a utility man. He’s up against Detroit Tigers All-Star Zach McKinstry and New York Yankees slugger Ben Rice.
The AL winners will be announced Friday, Nov. 7.
