Fox News viewers were left doing a double-take after Donald Trump paid tribute to wife Melania Trump during a White House event honoring Military Mothers.
While praising the First Lady, 56, as an “incredible mom,” Trump, 79, made a comment about their son, Barron Trump, 20.
Trump said, “She has done an incredible job, the First Lady. Melania is an incredible mom. She has a little boy who’s quite tall. And he’s great. She takes great care of him.” It comes as Trump boasted of “very good talks” with Iran but said there’s no deal deadline.
Social media users zeroed in on the way Trump referred to Barron as Melania’s “little boy” rather than “our son.” Some viewers were quick to brand his action “weird.”
On X, one person wrote, “So not his son, not their boy? Weird.” Another person added, “He’s not a little boy, you moron, and he’s your son too. Do you think she just got pregnant on her own?”

A third person added, “What is up with how he always says that Barron is hers and never, ‘ours’ or, ‘mine’? Any theories? He looks like his dad so I don’t think it’s an issue of paternity.”
“All he knows about ‘Melania’s son’ is that he’s tall,” a fourth person wrote.
Barron Trump was born on March 20, 2006. He graduated from Oxbridge Academy in May 2024 before enrolling at New York University’s Stern School of Business later that year, where he attended with renewed Secret Service protection.

In 2025, he began his sophomore year at NYU’s Washington campus near the White House.
At the Mother’s Day event, Melania stood beside her husband at the podium as she praised military mothers for the support they give to service members and their families.
The First Lady hosted the celebration in the East Room of the White House in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, May 6, honoring the sacrifices made by America’s military mothers. Before speaking, Melania shared a warm embrace with the president and the pair were seen exchanging a rare public kiss.
The event, held just days before Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10, focused on the strength and resilience of military families. Melania also paid tribute to mothers who have lost loved ones while serving in the armed forces.
She said, “Most know my husband as the strong commander in chief, but his empathy transcends the role, and shape a caring leader…”
Later in the event, Trump praised Melania for the “amazing job you’ve done” and also spoke about her Amazon-funded documentary, Melania.
“She did a little movie. It became the number one movie. Now, you know, and I can’t do it, because if I did, they would be all over. It wasn’t number one, it was number two. It was number five. So I can’t — I have to be very, very careful with it,” he said.
