Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of ’90s grunge icons Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, was seen out and about in San Diego this week.
In images published by the Daily Mail, Cobain, 33, can be seen carrying her 1-year-old son, Robin Walker Cobain Hawk, whom she shares with her husband, Riley Hawk, 33, the son of legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk.
A visual artist, model, and producer, Cobain was dressed in all black, sporting a tank top and oversize pants. Her baby was adorable in a light-blue top and maroon bottoms, with his light-blond hair shining in the sun.
The rare sighting comes about two weeks after Courtney Love was involved in a car incident in Los Angeles. According the outlet, the incident coincided with the new private investigation concerning Kurt Cobain’s death.
In February, new research provided by an independent team of forensic scientists claimed the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” rocker was murdered. Their evidence cited organ damage, blood patterns, and a meticulously arranged scene.
Authorities maintain the original conclusion that Kurt Cobain died by suicide, but some remain open to reviewing the case under new circumstances.
Since the relase of the report, Frances Bean Cobain has remained silent. Offering glimpses into her and her family’s orbit on social media, she lives a private life for the most part.
“We just do our own thing,” Riley told People last year. “We don’t really think too much about it, honestly, other than the fact that we do stuff like this with a video game, or whatever it may be, or something regarding her side of the family. But other than that, we’re just a very quiet stay-at-home family. We just hang out.”
Kurt Cobain died on April 5, 1994. He was 27 years old. His death was officially ruled a suicide by self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
