The 79-year-old Republican president just posted a video of Sinatra singing May Way without any caption and/or context.
A X, formerly known as Twitter, user tagged Nancy in a post remarking that she would “not be happy” about the Truth Social post as the convicted felon “goes against everything that Frank stood for.” The user noted Frank “was a big champion for equality and supported the Civil Rights movement.”
Nancy replied to the post, writing, “This is a sacrilege.” She also reposted a user’s tweet calling Trump’s post “sickening.”
The user post continued to say, “Frank Sinatra would never have allowed that monster in the White House to use his music or put his lyrics in his mouth. Sinatra was a man of honor, a man who never had to lie about who he truly was because he WAS the greatest. trump is a loser.”
The Shot You Down artist has consistently been a vocal opposer of Trump and has publicly criticized him on social media and in interviews.
In an interview with the Guardian in January 2021, Nancy shared she would never forgive Trump voters.
“I couldn’t believe that this great nation had sunk so low,” she said about Trump’s first presidential term. “I’ll never forgive the people that voted for him, ever. I have an angry place inside of me now. I hope it doesn’t kill me.”
Nancy is the eldest daughter of Frank’s three children with ex-wife Nancy Barbato. The other two children are Frank Sinatra Jr. (who passed away on March 16, 2016 at 72), and Christina “Tina” Sinatra, 77.
On April 18, Obama joined Mamdani as they visited a South Bronx’s child care center. The two met preschoolers and their families.
During the visit, they read the book Alone and Together, written by Émilie Chazerand and illustrated by Amandine Piu, to the children. After reading, they did a sing-along of Wheels on the Bus.
In between their interaction with the children, Obama and Mamdani discussed the mayor’s vision for the city, which includes free and universal child care. This event marks the first time the pair have met face-to-face.
