First Light Casino in Taunton is launching a six-week live entertainment series, Rock & Brews Amplified Weekends, featuring free concerts and NFL viewing parties.
The series kicks off Aug. 29 and will run every Friday and Saturday night, with Tailgate Sundays offering NFL action on a 17-foot LED screen, according to a community announcement.
The events will take place on the casino’s outdoor lawn, with food trucks and a tented event space. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and coolers.
“We’re thrilled to be offering free community events at First Light and making live entertainment accessible to everyone,” said Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Chairman Brian Weeden. “Rock & Brews Amplified Weekends are all about community, connection and fun.”
The series is a preview of the full-service dining and entertainment experience that will be available when First Light Casino opens its Rock & Brews Restaurant and Concert Bar inside its permanent facility.
First Light Casino is operated by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and is the only Native American gaming destination in the region. It opened in January, with an expanded gaming floor debuting in March and a second expansion in July.
Rock & Brews is a national restaurant chain founded by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS, along with CEO Adam Goldberg, entrepreneur Michael Zislis and concert industry veterans Dave and Dell Furano. The first Rock & Brews opened near Los Angeles International Airport in 2010 and has since expanded to more than 24 locations across the country.
The Rock & Brews Amplified Weekends are being produced in partnership with Michael Guinan of 360 Marketing & Events, a New England-based company.
First Light Casino is located at 1 O’Connell Way in East Taunton.
