There was a new face among the royals at their annual Easter Sunday service – and she largely went unnoticed.
Georgina Sperling, the future stepdaughter of Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips, quietly joined the family’s traditional church outing at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
She is the daughter of Phillips’ fiancée, Harriet Sperling.
Georgina, 13, appeared at ease alongside Phillips’ daughters, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, as she was photographed leaving church with her soon-to-be stepsisters, likely heading to the customary post-service lunch.
The three girls stepped out in coordinated blue-toned outfits for the service.
The appearance marked a notable step for the couple’s blended family ahead of Phillips and Sperling’s marriage.
Phillips announced his engagement to Harriet last year after a year-long romance.
Georgina is Sperling’s daughter from her previous marriage to fitness instructor Antonio St John Sperling.
Georgina was first introduced to the wider royal family last year at Balmoral, the Scottish estate where the royals traditionally holiday, according to Hello! Magazine.
The introduction reportedly came as Harriet underwent the so-called “Balmoral Test”.
This is the informal royal rite of passage said to gauge how potential partners adapt to the family’s traditions and private way of life.
Visitors to Balmoral are typically expected to follow strict etiquette, take part in outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing, and adjust to the rhythms of royal life away from public view.
Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, nephew of King Charles and eldest grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II, was previously married to Canadian-born Autumn Kelly.
The pair announced their separation in 2020 after 12 years of marriage, before finalising their divorce in 2021.
They have remained based in Gloucestershire as they continue to co-parent their two daughters.
