General Hospital‘s Ava has done it again! She knocked Ric over the head with a blunt object. Haven’t we seen this before?
Ava Deja Vu
It wasn’t three years ago when Ava (Maura West) lost her temper while arguing with her ex, Nikolas (then Adam Huss). When he threatened to take her daughter away, she picked up the nearest statue and hit him over the head. Nikolas fell to the ground, and Ava believed she had killed him. She didn’t, but chaos certainly ensued. One would have thought she would never want to go through that again.
Fast forward, and guess what? Ava just hit another ex over the head. Not that Ric (Rick Hearst) didn’t deserve it. This couple seemed like a perfect match. Both a little devilish and out for themselves, but not total villains. The problem was that they were too alike and began scheming against each other. When Ric first started flirting with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and then stole all the money that he and Ava had blackmailed Alexis for, she couldn’t take it anymore. She went back to her fallback and grabbed a blunt object. It felt just like deja vu.
Ava Never Learns
Now Ava is back in her same old predicament. She isn’t evil, but she does have a long list of crimes. Even before the Nikolas incident, she tampered with Morgan’s (ex-Bryan Craig) medication, which ultimately led to his death. She also shot and killed Connie Falconeri (ex-Megan Ward). More recently, she played around with Sonny’s meds (see a pattern here?).
There is good in Ava. She loves her children and is a loyal friend (sometimes), but her scheming and her temper both get the best of her. It’s time for her to stop hitting people with blunt objects and messing with medications. We need an Ava with some new moves. These are getting old.
