The annual New Year’s Eve fireworks show on Aspen Mountain is scheduled for 8 p.m. tonight.
You decided that tonight’s the night you’re going to stay home for New Year’s Eve — maybe watch some Ryan Seacrest or Anderson Cooper, possibly binge some episodic TV or finally watch “Happy Gilmore 2.”
And then you woke up this morning, thinking, “Scratch that, I want to go out, I want to ring in the New Year in style.”

Aspen
From 3-6 p.m., head over to the Aspen Ice Garden for free public ice skating. Rental ice skates will be provided for as long as supplies last. Festival costumes and attire are encouraged.
At 8 p.m., the City of Aspen will light up the night sky with a fireworks display to ring in the new year.
The Wheeler Opera House presents “Jen Kramer’s Magical New Year” at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., a multi-generational show, with two shows scheduled around the 8 p.m. fireworks.

W Aspen has two different offerings for New Year’s. Its Countdown Rodeo brings a Wild West theme to the final night of the year at 39 Degrees from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. DJs, dancing, and a midnight countdown are on tap. When the clock strikes midnight, the night continues at Hidalgo, W Aspen’s lobby-level cocktail bar led by mixologist Dushan Zarić of Employees Only. Hidalgo offers full bar and restaurant service.
Hotel Jerome’s NYE celebration includes an open bar and bites at the Antler Bar and a multi-course dinner. There will be live music by Feeding Giants, who will perform their fusion of rock, soul and Americana. Silver City Aspen is hosting a New Year’s Eve party with Martin and Kelly. This country duo of Jilly Martin and Ryan Brooks Kelly bridges the gap between new and traditional country. Most recently they warmed up audiences for artists such as Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Little Big Town, Alabama, Dwight Yoakam, Rodney Atkins, Phil Vassar, Lonestar, Chris Janson, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sara Evans, the Bacon Brothers and many more. Belly Up will ring in the new year with the second of two performances by American dance-punk revival band LCD Soundsystem. The Little Nell has multiple ways to bring in the new year. The theme for the 10th annual Dom Pérignon New Year’s Eve Party is “Silver Solstice.” The event includes a multi-course dinner at Element 47 and a New Year’s Day brunch. Ticket packages range from $1,000 to $2,650.

Element 47 at the Little Nell is open for a New Year’s Eve dinner, featuring a multi-course menu of seasonal dishes paired with a selection of wines. The evening runs from 7-10 p.m. and showcases an à la carte menu as well. Dinner is priced at $1,500 per adult and $500 per child (ages 12 and under).

On New Year’s Day, The Little Nell offers a brunch called “Golden Dawn” that features a three-course seasonal menu, flowing champagne, and bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. The brunch starts at 10:30 a.m. and costs $160 per adult and $55 per child. The bar menu will be available after 2 p.m.
Snowmass Village
The Town of Snowmass Village is hosting its annual Torchlight Parade that will light up Fanny Hill, even if its fireworks show was canceled due to snow condition.
The Collective Snowmass hosts a festive, family friendly, New Year’s Eve celebration from 7 to 10 pm featuring DJ Tenza, party favors, an East Coast ball drop at 10 p.m., and a complimentary champagne toast. The party will keep going with bites and drinks from Slope & Hatch, the newest addition to Base Village, serving up tacos, hot dogs, loaded fries, great beer, and craft cocktails.
Heather’s in Snowmass will serve up a New Year’s Eve dinner, handcrafted cocktails, a live performance by Wild Flight and a midnight champagne toast.
Rock Island Oyster Bar and Grill commemorates New Year’s Eve with a party featuring live music and complimentary champagne at midnight. Reservations are highly recommended, and the kitchen is open late. Walk-ins are welcome and there is no entry fee.
Basalt
Heather’s in Basalt is offering a relaxed setting with Heather’s signature cuisine, a full bar and live piano music by John Paul Riger at the piano to carry the evening into the New Year.
Funk and soul band Cool Cool Cool plays a New Year’s Eve show on Wednesday at The Arts Campus at Willits. Cool Cool Cool will be joined by DJ Yesmann. Doors at 8 p.m., show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 and are available at tacaw.org.
Carbondale
El Dorado is ringing in the new year with local DJ Kordicimo, who has spent over 14 years as a DJ for all avenues of house music since he first fell in love with the genre in London’s underground scene. The festivities start at 10 p.m. and will include special cocktails curated for New Year’s Eve.
