Meghan Markle once revealed the one gift she wouldn’t be getting her son Prince Archie for Christmas.
The former Suits star and her husband, Prince Harry, 41, are parents to six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
While it’s certain that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have showered their children with numerous delightful gifts, Meghan once shared a story about a particular Christmas present she had no plans of giving Archie in the near future.
About two years ago Meghan was participating in a Netflix Q&A event following a special screening of The After.
She was joined by the film’s star, David Oyelowo, and director Misan Harriman, who is a close friend of hers and Harry’s.
Meghan told how Harriman had previously given Archie photography tips so she decided to buy him a camera for Christmas.
She said the youngster was disapointed that she didn’t buy him a Leica camera – a luxury brand camera like Misa owns which can cost thousands of dollars – adding, she told him he would never be getting one.
Meghan said, “The inspiration runs deep. Our four-year-old, four-and-a-half-year-old son – he would say, ‘No, I’m not four. I’m four-and-a-half-year-old.
“Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us, and I bought Archie a camera, and he said, ‘But it’s not a Leica like Misan.”
Meghan added while laughing,”I said, ‘You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas.’ So thank you for the inspiration across the board.”
Earlier this month, Meghan shared her family’s Christmas card for 2025 with fans. The post featured a previously unseen photograph of the family of four, which was posted to Meghan’s Instagram for her 4.3 million followers on 19 December.
The snapshot depicts the former Suits star alongside Harry and their children, positioned on a bridge amid expansive green landscape.
Harry can be seen gazing down affectionately at his son, who has his arms encircled around him, while Meghan and her daughter are positioned behind them with their foreheads gently touching.
“Happy Holidays! From our family to yours,” Meghan wrote as the caption for the unexpected photograph.
The card was accompanied by a video celebrating the past 12 months, featuring a montage of clips on their charity Archewell’s website that showcased the couple engaging in humanitarian efforts.
The holiday video also featured the couple’s children helping to prepare meals for their neighborhood community through Archewell’s collaboration with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA).
