Glow Sticks, a new indoor family entertainment center, has recently opened in Bainbridge Township. The 8,500-square-foot space brings together a blacklight mini‑golf course, duckpin bowling and a game arcade in one high‑energy setting.

The idea for the establishment took shape from two main considerations, according to owner Megan Berman.

Berman, of Geauga County, recognized the lack of indoor recreation in Northeast Ohio, particularly when the weather prohibits outdoor plans. That gap, coupled with her family’s love of mini‑golf, initiated the idea that grew into Glow Sticks.

The name itself came from her 16‑year‑old son, Josh, who suggested it as a nod to the glowing neon golf clubs used on the course.

Berman describes her business as a “boutique family entertainment center,” smaller than the large multi‑level complexes found in bigger areas which can sometimes be overwhelming.

When guests first enter the bright, buzzing facility, they come upon the prize counter, snack bar and check‑in desk before reaching a row of duckpin lanes and the game arcade colorfully anchored on neon patterned flooring. A seating area with tables and chairs offers adults a comfortable spot to watch children as they bowl and play, doubling as a gathering space for birthday parties and other scheduled events.

Just past the arcade, guests step into Rock & Glow Galaxy — four connected, music‑themed rooms that serve as the mini‑golf course and the venue’s signature attraction.

Moving decade by decade, each lively room features a different era — from the 1950s and ’60s through the 1990s — with music from that period and sculpted figures tied to each decade. Elvis Presley and the Beatles appear in the earlier rooms, while later decades showcase their own era‑specific characters alongside fluorescent graphic artwork created by Black Light Attractions of St. Louis, Missouri.

“We wanted to keep the theme with Cleveland and music because we’re so near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Berman said.

While families with children make up part of the crowd, the activities are built to appeal just as much to adults coming in for a date night or an outing with friends. The layout is flexible, supporting different ages and group types.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old. It’s for everybody,” Berman said.

Along with regular admission, the space also hosts birthday celebrations for 10 children or more. Pizza, supplied by Romeo’s Pizza conveniently located next door, and unlimited fountain drinks are included in the package.

Corporate gatherings and other group events also can be booked in advance.

Since opening, Berman said the response has been steady and encouraging.

“People are excited. The community here has been super welcoming. People keep thanking me for opening.”
