In her interview, she opened up about being transparent about her life as she shoots a documentary covering her journey. “When we talk about sports, we’re always celebrating people’s success,” she said. “But then when you zoom out and look at the career as a whole, that’s such a small fraction of everything else that person has endured. I wanted to try to be more open about my experiences and how it’s not all pretty and dandy all the time, and that it actually does suck sometimes.”
