With summer comes summer food trends, and Gordon Ramsay knows exactly what’s going on in the culinary world.
The British celebrity chef, 59, revealed what food trend people should be open to this season while speaking with PEOPLE at the 2026 Fox Upfronts at New York City Center in New York City on Monday, May 11.
“Infused olive oils,” he says. “Olive oils with things like roasted garlic or black garlic puree. Olive oils that have been infused with Thai basil. Fragrant olive oils.”

Ramsay says that infused olive oil is “a way of seasoning food without using salt.”
“Using olive oil flavored beautifully can really transform a dish,” he explains.
Ramsay also named a second food trend people should try. “Pickling vegetables. Honestly, delicious,” he adds.
Fox unveiled its 2026-2027 programming slate during its upfront presentation, including the renewal of several of Ramsay’s hit shows. Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service will return for a second season, along with Hell’s Kitchen for seasons 25 and 26, Kitchen Nightmares for season 3, Next Level Baker for seasons 2 and 3 and Next Level Chef for season 6.
The chef tells PEOPLE about what it’s like to film multiple shows at once, saying, “I take each and every one of them independently. They all have some real unique creativity input, and so I’m very lucky I get to executive produce those.”
He continues: “I test myself before I put the challenge in front of them, and if I’m struggling with it, they’re going to struggle. So I never rest on my laurels. I’m always ripping up the rule book and trying to be a little bit disruptive, but in a creative way,” he says.

Ramsay notes that coming up with show challenges has changed now that contestants “have so much access to the internet.”
“Half the time when you come up with a great idea, they’ve seen it already. So it’s pushing those boundaries out each and every time, and not getting lazy with the creativity. I think that’s the important part,” he says.
Ramsay also gives insight into the shows he feels most strongly about.
When asked about his favorite show to shoot, he says, “I have six shows on air right now. That’s like saying, I have six kids as well, what’s my favorite kid? It depends, it’s the one that least pisses me off at the moment.”

“We’re about to start season 25 of Hell’s Kitchen next week, and it’s going to be working with youngsters from 19 to 25 years old. The kids that grew up with the show. I am so excited to see that generation,” he continues.
“I think it’s going to be one of the most exciting, because I love mentoring. I love teaching. I just hope they can absorb quickly,” Ramsay says.
