A Brazilian internet personality known online as Vó do Céu — which translates to “grandma from heaven” — died on May 15. She was 106.
Her granddaughter, Imaculada Moura, shared the news of her death in an Instagram post, writing in a tribute on May 19, “I’ll never forget your advice, your teachings, everything you talked about, even in her own way, but always with a lot of wisdom and meaning.”
Moura, who has over 355,000 followers on Instagram, almost exclusively shared photos and videos on her account of her grandmother, who was known for her comedic personality.

“Her strength was incredibly admirable,” Moura penned in her post. “I knew that one day this day would come and it would hurt, I just didn’t know it was so much 😭💔”
According to her post, Moura’s grandmother was born in 1919. Over her century-long life, she had a single son, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was also a devout Catholic. In her final years, she became an internet sensation, often filmed sharing her reactions to various meals.
On May 11, several days before her grandmother’s death, Moura took to Instagram to request prayers after her grandma was hospitalized for hitting her head in a fall.
In the comments of Moura’s latest posts, fans of her grandmother shared their condolences.
“I am sure that wherever she is, she is seeing all this affection and resting peacefully knowing she had such a devoted, loving granddaughter by her side,” penned one. “May God comfort your heart and turn all these longing into beautiful memories that you shared together.”
