The annual holiday displays will fill the museum with familiar cheer again this year. Sweet Creations features dozens of cleverly designed and deliciously decorated gingerbread houses. See dozens of uniquely decorated wreaths on view and decorated trees throughout the historic mansion.  


Holiday Films at the Dryden Theatre

t’s that time of year again when the silver screen turns to tinsel and we celebrate the end of the year with holiday classics on the big screen. Highlighted by the return of Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life on 35mm film, as well as the first ever Dryden screenings of Christmas Vacation, It Happened on 5th Avenue, and the 1938 A Christmas Carol. In between Christmas and New Year’s, you can celebrate the 40th anniversary of the groundbreaking Back to the Future trilogy, and ring in the new year with Billy Wilder’s classic The Apartment. It’s the most cinematic time of the year!

Seneca Park Zoo Holiday Magic Tours

Pittsford Candlelight Night

Starting at 5:00PM, this family-fun annual tradition is a festival that kicks off the winter holidays. Activities will take place in the center of the Village, Schoen Place and Northfield Common. 


Genesee Keg Tree Lighting


December 5 | Genesee Brew House


The Genesee Keg Tree Lighting Event is back and scheduled for Friday, December 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Genesee Brew House. The iconic Rochester holiday tradition will include an exciting countdown and lighting at 6:30 p.m., along with local food trucks, two beer trucks and plenty of holiday cheer.


Roc Holiday Village

Roc Holiday Village is Rochester’s annual holiday festival that brings the magic of the season to people of all ages. The 16 day festival offers free ice skating and skate rentals, a unique Shopping Village, free visits & pictures with Santa, fire pits with outdoor seating, indoor and outdoor bars, hand-crafted goods, Cozy Winter Igloos, free crafts for kids, food trucks, a variety of holiday celebrations, live music, private events, nightlife and more. The festival has been recognized by USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards as one of the top holiday markets and ice skating destinations in the country!


It’s a Wonderful Life in the South Wedge 2025


December 6 | South Wedge Neighborhood


The South Wedge neighborhood is celebrating Christmas as only we can! Join us for “It’s a Wonderful Life in the South Wedge” an event produced by the Business Association of the South Wedge (BASWA). Enjoy a day filled with holiday cheer and local delights: arts & crafters, live music, food & beverage from local eateries & food trucks, and be sure to bring the little ones for a visit with the man in red & other children’s activities. Admission is free. 


Liberty Pole Lighting & Parade

The annual Liberty Pole Lighting will include a festive Parade with Santa, elves, and other costumed characters to Roc Holiday Village held in conjunction with the City of Rochester and Downtown Definitely. Community members will have an opportunity to participate in the popular family parade.

Genesee Keg Tree

A Christmas Carol

Rochester’s favorite holiday tradition returns in a refreshed adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story by Award-winning playwright Harrison David Rivers! Beginning with a wish made by young Tim Cratchit, over the course of one night notorious grump Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by four ghosts. But will their intervention prompt him to change his “humbug” ways? Filled with humor, heart, hope – and a little bit of horror – A Christmas Carol reminds us that it is never too late to have a change of heart.

In this shows regional premiere, Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas brings the beloved Jim Henson television special to life, live on stage. Straight No Chaser

Look up “holiday music” in the dictionary, and it’s likely that there is a photo of the nine-person a cappella group Straight No Chaser, instead of a standard definition. For more than two decades, the group has provided the soundtrack of the season, bringing millions of fans to their feet while putting them in the holiday spirit.  Year after year, fans anxiously await the moment they can officially hit play on Straight No Chaser favorites.  And this year is no different.  Straight No Chaser is back on tour, serving up an all-you-can-eat buffet of holiday music.


A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage

This critically acclaimed holiday celebration that the whole family can enjoy brings Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the Peanuts gang together live on stage as they uncover the true meaning of Christmas and perform songs from the unforgettable musical score of legendary composer Vince Guaraldi. Tuba Christmas

Rochester’s 42nd annual TUBACHRISTMAS concert will take place Sunday, December 14, at 3:00 pm in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. Celebrating 10 years at Eastman this year, a mass low-brass choir of over 100 tuba and euphonium players of all ages and abilities will perform traditional Christmas carols with an enthusiastic audience sing-along. 


How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Based on the iconic animated film and beloved children’s book, Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, the musical features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos.​
