Last August, RedOctane – the company that produced the Guitar Hero video games in the 2000s – announced their return and rebranding as RedOctane Games.
Now, less than a year later, the company has made an official announcement about a new game, Stage Tour. The forthcoming video game is currently in “active development,” with plans for release before the end of 2026.
Stage Tour is set to be a “rhythm-action game” that embodies some elements of the original Guitar Hero franchise, but in a more personalised RPG setting, Metal Injection reports.
The official video game reveal teaser was shared by Stage Tour, RedOctane Games, Gibson Guitar, and Kramer Guitars and features Static-X in the background as its characters play the chunky riffs. Check out the teaser below.

According to the official video game description, Stage Tour is a rhythm-action game that’s been crafted to “blend familiar and accessible” gameplay with new and exciting “modern twists.”
Players will have the opportunity to build their bands and build their stage presence, plus assign members to lead, groove, drums, or vocals. They’ll also get to customise their style with Gibson guitar and bass designs, with a community-focused background that allows gamers to unlock rewards, exclusive content, and “permanent bragging rights.”
At the time of publication, no release date for Stage Tour has been confirmed. However, you can sign up for updates and add the game to your wishlist via Steam.
“Stage Tour is our love letter to rhythm gaming,” said RedOctane Games Head of Studio, Simon Ebejer (via Video Games Chronicle). “We want Stage Tour to feel familiar and authentic, but also fresh, utilising modern technology to connect gamers with the music they love and enjoying a platform that evolves and grows over time.”
Ebejer added, “With new instruments and deep charting systems, we’re raising the bar on what we believe a rhythm game can be, while also catering to those wishing to simply enjoy a casual experience and have a good time.”
