Halle Berry is working hard to make sure women receive equal treatment in menopause care — and she won’t rest until she’s achieved her goal.
The actor and Respin founder, 59, has long spoken up for menopause awareness, with her health and wellness company being partly based on her personal experiences with menopausal symptoms.
Now, with The Menopause Care Equity Act (AB 432) having the potential to be passed as a California bill, Berry posted a video on X on Friday (September 5) urging her one million followers to sign the letter in support.
The bill will be issued to Governor of California Gavin Newsom and requires physicians to provide women with the care they need and mandates insurance coverage for the assessment and treatment of menopause symptoms.
“Hello, everybody, okay, I just got some news that I have to share with you,” the Academy Award winner began. “I just got word that Governor Newsom’s office is right now pushing back on a part of our menopause bill that is crucial. It’s the part that says that insurance companies must pay for women’s HRT.”
Berry called the aspect of the bill “the most important part” and a “huge part of what this bill is all about.”
“Not every woman can afford it. It’s not exactly cheap,” she continued. “But we exactly deserve it.”
Berry again pleaded for California residents, who she believes “want to do the right thing” but “need a push from all of us,” to sign the letter.
“I can tell you this, men have that little blue pill covered by insurance,” Berry continued, referring to medication for erectile dysfunction. “Men need to keep their penis’ up. I get it, I’m in support of that. And I beg you all to be in support of women also living their best lives in their second act, too.”
Berry, who’s been in a relationship with soul musician Van Hunt since 2020, hasn’t been shy about indulging the public in their intimate life. In May, the couple celebrated Mother’s Day with Berry’s co-created lubricant, Let’s Spin.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
