Harrison Ford, a long-time critic of Donald Trump and his administration, has once again voiced his disapproval of the president.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the Star Wars actor lambasted Trump for his failure to enact policies to combat climate change. Regarding the president’s inaction and preference for fossil fuels, Harrison stated, “It’s unbelievable,” and added, “I don’t know of a greater criminal in history.”

This week, the 83-year-old environmental activist was honored with a conservation award by the E. O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation at The Field Museum in Chicago. The award is named after the late biologist, who was a close friend of Harrison’s.

The Indiana Jones star has a track record of opposing Trump, even publicly endorsing Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, reports the Irish Star.

During the interview, Harrison criticized Trump for acting on his “whims” and greed rather than prioritizing the planet’s future.

The actor continued, “But we have to develop the political will and intellectual sophistication to realize that we human beings are capable of change. We are incredibly adaptive, we are incredibly inventive. If we concentrate on a problem we can fix it most times.”

Despite remaining optimistic about a potential resolution, he stays doubtful of the Trump administration’s capacity and desire to tackle climate change, particularly since many of Trump’s followers don’t consider it a genuine concern. Harrison noted that the president seems more focused on generating profit than safeguarding the planet’s future.

“It scares the s‐‐t out of me,” the star said. “The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo and he’s making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket.”
