Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in 2018, but it wasn’t quite all smiles when it came to planning the big day.
The pair’s decisions in the run-up to the ceremony are said to have angered Queen Elizabeth, who was annoyed some royal family members were left off the guest list.
According to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, the late monarch was angered Harry and Meghan had favored “random” celebrities over their royal relatives. The revelation comes after King Charles’ eight-word comment to Donald Trump was revealed.
Smith told Radar Online, “Harry and Meghan just disinvited or didn’t invite a whole group of family and cousins. The children of the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and of the Gloucesters.
“(Meghan) and Harry just ‘exed’ them out of the guest list, and they added all these other random people who barely even knew the royal family. That was just yet another irritation for the Queen.”
When Meghan and Harry ignored the Queen’s wishes, the source said the monarch “couldn’t be placated.”
They explained, “The Queen believed her kindness was being taken advantage of.”
Just two years after their wedding, Meghan and Harry dramatically left the royal family and moved to America. They now live in Montecito, California, with their two young children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The couple said the media frenzy surrounding them in the UK led to their decision to move, as they wanted space to raise their children.
