Prince Harry opened up about his recent trip to Ukraine in a fresh interview released on Sunday, just hours before his 41st birthday.
He also took the opportunity to discuss his recent visit to the UK, which marked his reunion with King Charles after a 19-month gap.
The prince has been somewhat distant from the Royal Family for a while now. Due to ongoing strains, he did not find time to meet Prince William during his latest visit.
The former working royal, who now lives in California with Meghan Markle and their two children, has previously voiced his desire to mend ties with his family. The prince now states that “the focus really has to be on my dad” in the upcoming year.

Harry has leveled some shocking accusations against members of the Firm over the years, including in his tell-all memoir Spare and during his explosive joint Oprah Winfrey sit-down with Meghan Markle in March 2021.
The Duke of Sussex remained guarded about revealing too many details regarding his Wednesday meeting with the King. Nevertheless, he did reveal that “the focus really has to be on my dad” over the coming year.
This remark follows the royal’s earlier statement about the King’s health during a BBC interview after his failed attempt to restore his UK security protection.
Speaking in May about his hopes to mend fences with his family, Harry told reporter Nada Tawfik: “I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff… but it would be nice to reconcile.”
The recent remarks have sparked fresh questions about the King’s condition and likely haven’t been well-received as they contradict the upbeat messaging from the Palace that Charles is thriving.
Harry also addressed the UK press and hit back at media outlets for suggesting that he is miserable in the US. He told The Guardian: “I think parts of the British press want to believe that I am miserable, but I’m not. I am very happy with who I am and I like the life that I live.”
He also alleges a discrepancy between his portrayal in the media and the actual sentiments of the British public.
He told the publication, “I feel a lot of support from the British public. Even now, when I feel like I have been destroyed by certain members of the British press, it serves them to think that the British public feels the same way about me as they do.
“But I don’t feel that, and I don’t see that. For as long as I have known, certain elements of the British press have tried to speak on behalf of the nation… I think the British public can speak and think for themselves.”
Following his recent visit to Ukraine, rumors swirled that Harry had met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his trip last week, against Government advice.
The Guardian reported: “The suspicion is that he has gone to meet Volodymyr Zelensky, but neither [Harry] nor the president wants to admit it.”
They continued: “Zelensky is a champion of the Invictus Games and had made it known he wanted to meet the Prince. The British government had made it known to Zelensky that it would rather he did not. That was the chat in diplomatic circles, at least.”
They also noted that Britain’s new foreign secretary, Yvette Cooper, was “in town” during Harry’s visit to Ukraine.
