Has Smoke Season 2 Been Canceled or Renewed?

Is Smoke canceled or renewed for Season 2 by Apple TV+?

Smoke is a crime thriller that follows the story of Dave Gudsen (played by Taron Egerton), an arson investigator, and Michelle Calderone (played by Jurnee Smollett), a police detective. After a series of incidents, they work together to stop a pair of arsonists who are terrorizing the Pacific Northwest.

The show has a total of nine episodes, with the last one scheduled for August 15, 2025. After a shocking twist in Episode 8, viewers are waiting for the last episode to see what follows.

In an interview with The Direct, the creator Dennis Lehane spoke about his plan for the show. When The Direct asked him about the long-term plans for it, he said, “I want to go three seasons. Whether Apple wants to go three will depend on how many people show up and watch it. But I want to do three, and I have a very strong sense of how those three will end. I never know how I’m going to get to my ends, but I usually know what my ends are.”

In the interview, Lehane also talked about how writing flawed characters is the only way he knows how to write. He said, “I don’t really write good guys. I don’t really write bad guys. I just kind of write people, and I think most people are pretty messed up.” He further added, “I did know one thing, that ever since I started writing, I have always built characters from the flaws out.”

As of today, Apple has yet to renew Smoke for Season 2.
