Hasbro enters into a new licensing partnership with Legendary Entertainment to develop a global toy and collectibles line inspired by the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film, set to arrive in theaters Oct. 16.
“Returning to Street Fighter is more than a collaboration — it’s a homecoming rooted in one of the most influential video games of all time,” shares Tim Kilpin, President of toy, licensing, and entertainment at Hasbro.
Timed to the film’s release, the collaboration brings characters from the movie to shelves through a range of action figures, collectibles, and more, extending the franchise beyond the big screen and into retail worldwide. Additional product details will be shared in the coming months.
“Our work on Street Fighter II: The World Warrior gave us firsthand insight into what makes these characters so iconic,” Kiplin adds. “That connection to the franchise’s origins allows us to honor its legacy while delivering new products that capture the spirit, style, and energy fans have embraced for decades.”
The partnership marks a return to the Street Fighter universe for Hasbro, which previously produced action figures, vehicles, and playsets tied to Street Fighter II: The World Warrior during the franchise’s early arcade-era popularity. That line helped translate Capcom’s iconic video game characters into consumer products for fans worldwide.
“Legendary has a proven track record of translating beloved IP with passionate fan bases into cultural moments through our films,” says Amber Sheppo, SVP of consumer products and partnerships at Legendary Entertainment. “We can’t wait to see audiences around the globe engage with the full Street Fighter universe both in theaters and at home.”
The new toy program aligns with Legendary’s live-action adaptation of Street Fighter, based on Capcom’s long-running video game franchise. The film features a large ensemble cast, including Noah Centineo, Callina Liang, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Jason Momoa, and more.
Hasbro will apply its product design and collectibles expertise to the line, with offerings aimed at fans of both the classic video games and the upcoming film.
