Vivienne Medrano discussed Hazbin Hotel Seasons 3 and 4 in a Collider interview, confirming ongoing production progress and outlining the expected release pattern.
Medrano stated, “We are definitely well into it, but animation takes a long time. I would say a similar wait for Season 3… but less of a wait for Season 4 because they were greenlit together.” Since Season 2 premiered on October 29, 2025, after Season 1 finished on February 2, 2024, Season 3 is expected around 2027. Season 4 is set to arrive sooner because it was approved at the same time as Season 3.
Medrano also explained the core rule behind Hell’s deal making in the series. She said, “The way deals work in my universe is you have to see them shake on it. So, technically, Lute was just giving an order.” This rule clarifies why Lute’s attempted command in Season 2 held no binding force. Medrano added that Sera enforces this limitation, noting, “Sera is just like, You cannot do that. You cannot tell her what to do. You cannot tell him what to do.” She emphasized again, “You have to see them shake on it. That is what makes the deal binding.”
Regarding the Lilith storyline first teased in Season 1, Medrano said, “I will admit, the Lilith thing that we teased in Season 1 was partially because, like I said, we did not know what we would get.” She confirmed that the finale’s phone call was genuine, stating, “That was actually her.” Medrano then added, “Now that this season is over and people know that she is not really in this season, yes, Season 3 she is there. I promise.”
Medrano revealed that Season 3 will center on themes of family. She explained, “Someone said they think that the next season is probably going to be about family, and I think that is a safe one.” She noted the focus on the Morningstars, Angel, elements of found family, and parts of Angel’s history.
