The band “Brand New Box of Matches” performed on the Headwaters Arts Festival stage on May 16. The Knoxville group is a folk/country band that focus on bluegrass, folk songs and more.

An art competition was held as part of the Headwaters Arts Festival. “There were about 20 incredible pieces submitted from local and regional artists,” said Harlan Tourism Director Brandon Pennington. The art competition began at noon and was voted on by the public. Winners included Becki Devote (first place), Danielle Asher (second place) and Elizabeth Jones (third place).
