If you give Hudson Williams a microphone, be prepared for what comes out of the Heated Rivalry star’s mouth.
Even CBS host and journalist Gayle King seemed gagged, if only for a moment, when she interviewed the breakout star of the Canadian-produced Crave TV series (distributed on HBO Max in the U.S.) on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet.
In Williams’ defense, you can’t set him up the way that she did, which was by pointing out how excited people were to hear that he and costar Connor Storrie were attending the W magazine Globes party in Los Angeles over the weekend.
“The buzz the whole night, and I’m not exaggerating, was, ‘They’re coming! They’re coming! They’re coming!'” King said.
“Yeah, we do that a lot,” Williams quickly quipped.

King handled the situation well, but even such a pro couldn’t help but crack a smile at that remark.
On the press trail for Heated Rivalry, the unstoppable streaming hit that hit Canada and the U.S. at the end of November, Williams and Storrie proved they give great quote. In various interviews with Entertainment Weekly alone, the actor behind hockey player Shane Hollander said, “I’m always putting things in my mouth” and “you could shove coal up Shane’s ass and you’d get a diamond.”
It’s on brand for the incredibly sexual series, based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changer romance novels, about two rival hockey pros who slowly fall in love behind closed doors over the course of a years-long relationship.

All eyes were on the power duo on the Globes red carpet. Without doing much of anything, they topped the trending news topics on X/Twitter in the lead-up to the awards ceremony. Globes host Nikki Glaser also incorporated them into her joke set.
“I don’t wanna get too serious, but stories like these don’t always get told,” Glaser began in a serious tone. “The success of Heated Rivalry is proof that American audiences are ready for more shows about hockey, OK?”
