Legendary Indian superstar Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2026, at the age of 89 after ruling the Indian box office for over six decades.
The actor made his debut in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and his last movie released in 2026 titled Ikkis.
At the recently held BAFTA Awards 2026, Dharmendra was one of the celebs remembered among the legends and movie stars who passed away last year from Hollywood and around the world.
Hema Malini Reacts To Dharmendra Being Remembered At The BAFTA 2026
When asked about Dharmendra being honoured at The BAFTA Awards 2026, Hema Malini told Variety India that it was “heartening” to see the late Indian megastar getting that kind of respect.
She added, “He was someone whose presence went beyond borders. He had fans in every part of the world. My God, the way he would be mobbed in foreign countries.”
Further talking about travelling internationally with Dharmendra, she said, “We didn’t travel together much, except for shootings when we got to spend time together. We would sign lots of films together so we could spend time together.”
The yesteryear star then got emotional and said, “I miss him every single minute. I keep asking myself, is he really gone? When will I meet him again?”
On being asked about her favourite movie of Dharmendra, she said, “I like Chupke Chupke a lot — who doesn’t? And Sholay, because of all the good times we had during the shooting. I haven’t seen all his films. I am going to watch them one by one, as soon as I get some time.”
Earlier, Hema Malini had revealed that she hasn’t watched Dharmendra’s last movie Ikkis and had stated, “I can’t see it now, it will be too overwhelming. That’s what my daughters are also saying. Maybe I will watch it later when the wounds start healing.”
