The South Dakota State Fair welcomes the return of the Red Wilk Construction Tuff Hedeman Bull Bash.
This event kicks off the 2025 State Fair grandstand lineup with two nights of bucking bulls beginning on Channel Seeds Opening Day Wednesday, Aug. 27, and on Thursday, Aug. 28. Both nights are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
Tuff Hedeman, a four-time world champion bull rider, Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer, and one of the most recognizable cowboys in the world, is coming back to the State Fair with 24 of the top cowboys for his annual Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour. Each evening features two hours of adrenaline-pumping action played out in a sudden-death-style tournament. The bull riding starts with Tuff’s “Bounty Bull” night on Wednesday and continues Thursday night in a tournament-style event and “Shoot Out” round where the bulk of the prize money, championship title, and custom prizes are awarded.

The South Dakota State Fair will host “An Evening with Larry the Cable Guy” at the State Fair grandstand on Friday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m.
Larry the Cable Guy is a multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee, Billboard award winner, and one of the top comedians in the country. He has his own line of merchandise and continues to tour across the United States. Larry has created The GitR-Done Foundation, which was named after Larry’s signature catchphrase and has donated more than $8.1 million to various charities.

Lee Brice
A top country music artist Lee Brice will take the State Fair grandstand stage on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. With over 3.7 billion on-demand streams, and over 4 billion spins on Pandora, Brice has seen massive success at country radio, digital streaming services, and on the road.
He’s one of the most-played country artists of all time on Pandora, and he reached the No. 1 spot at Country Radio with Platinum-selling “Memory I Don’t Mess With.” Lee is also a GRAMMY nominee, a CMA and ACM award winner, and he’s taken nine radio singles to Number One: “A Woman Like You,” “Hard to Love,” “I Drive Your Truck,” “I Don’t Dance,” “Drinking Class,” “Rumor,” “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” “One of Them Girls,” and “Memory I Don’t Mess With.” Brice’s album, Hey World, has been certified Platinum and features several multi-platinum selling hits.

Fairgoers can look forward to a night of exciting live music as The All-American Rejects take the South Dakota State Fair grandstand stage on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m.
The All-American Rejects quickly rose to prominence in the early 2000s with their infectious blend of pop-punk and emo rock. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2002, featured the hit single “Swing, Swing,” which propelled them into the mainstream. This success was followed by their sophomore album, “Move Along” (2005), which trophied three chart-topping singles like “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along” and “It Ends Tonight.”

Thunder at the Fair Truck and Tractor Pull
The South Dakota State Fair is excited to announce Thunder at the Fair Truck and Tractor Pull is back. The event is set for the Fair’s final day on Monday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m.
This entertainment will bring high-powered excitement to the grandstand. The 2025 Case IH Thunder in the Dirt Outlaw Pulling Series returns to the State Fair for the first time in six years, featuring five national series classes: Super Farm Tractors, Light Pro Stock Tractors, Light Super Stocks, NA 2WD, and Light Limited Mod Tractors. Competitors across the Midwest will battle for top honors and championship points, filling the grandstand with roars of high-horsepower engines.
“We are beyond excited to bring the roar of engines and the thrill of competition back to the South Dakota State Fair with the return of the truck and tractor pull!” said Peggy Besch, South Dakota State Fairgrounds Manager. “The power, the adrenaline, and the sheer excitement of these machines pushing their limits – we can’t wait to see fairgoers cheering on this action-packed event!
