There’s good news and bad news for Downton Abbey fans. The good news is that the latest film, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, is now in theaters. The bad news is that it’s the final film (most likely).

There also might be a bit of extra concerning news for non-moviegoers who are already trying to find it on all of the streaming platforms. And given that the last film, Downton Abbey: A New Era, was entirely about filming a movie, you might surmise they want to get you in a theater. Here’s a quick guide to save you some trouble.

The movie is still in theaters.

The bottom line: the film is not streaming yet. If you want to watch it right now, you need to buy a ticket. The film just opened on September 12, so it should be in theaters for several more weeks.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is headed for Peacock.

Longtime viewers of the show will remember that the program originally debuted on PBS. Now the show as well as the first two films are available to stream on Peacock. In partnership with Focus Features, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is being produced by Carnival Films, a division of Universal Studios. Peacock is owned by NBCUniversal, so it’s inevitable that the movie will be headed to Peacock when it does become available for streaming services. Peacock subscriptions start at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year.

It’s also possible the film will be available to rent first. Rental possibilities include Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Apple TV+, and YouTube TV; we’ll update this as soon as links become available. The two previous Downton Abbey movies also usually popped up on in-flight entertainment systems on airlines such as Delta and United within a few months of release as well.
