Caught Stealing is the latest big-screen offering from the award-winning filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, and marks a dramatic change of pace from the man behind movies like Black Swan and Requiem For A Dream.

The crime drama follows former baseball star turned barman Hank (played by man of the moment Austin Butler), whose world is turned upside down when he gets dragged into a dangerous plot involving some of New York’s most dangerous criminals and gang members.

It also features an impressive all-star cast, which includes recognisable faces for fans of both film and television. Here’s where you have seen the cast of Caught Stealing before…

Austin shot to global fame thanks to his Oscar-nominated performance in the 2022 biopic Elvis.

But long before taking on the white jumpsuit to play the King in the Baz Luhrmann film – which also earned him Golden Globe and Bafta nods – Austin already had had a long and varied career in film and TV.

The American actor started his career on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows like Zoey 101, before being cast as the romantic lead in the oft-overlooked Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries.

His role as Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood kickstarted his A-list Hollywood career, and in the years since, he’s appeared in Dune: Part Two, Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air and Ari Aster’s modern-day nightmare Eddington.

Zoë Kravitz

Comic book movie fans will undoubtedly recognise Zoë Kravitz from 2022′s The Batman, where she played Catwoman, or 2011′s X-Men: First Class, in which she played Angel.

The Emmy nominee – who plays Hank’s girlfriend Yvonne in Caught Stealing – has appeared in numerous blockbusters, including Mad Max: Fury Road, Divergent, and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and made her directorial debut last year in Blink Twice, in which she also starred alongside Channing Tatum.

As for her TV work, Zoë has also appeared in Big Little Lies, the cancelled-too-soon High Fidelity and gave a hilarious meta performance in this year’s comedy, The Studio.

Oh, and of course, you might also just know her as the daughter of music icon Lenny Kravitz and fellow actor Lisa Bonet.

Matt Smith

Matt Smith won over a new legion of fans thanks to his role as the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who, and can currently be seen playing Daemon Targaryen in Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon.

He also played Prince Phillip alongside Claire Foy in the first two seasons of Netflix’s royal drama The Crown, earning an Emmy nomination along the way.

While best known for his work on the small screen than his movie role, he no doubt hopes more people remember his appearance in Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho than 2022′s critically-panned Morbius.

Regina King

Regina King is a multi-award-winning actor with a long and illustrious career that includes sitcoms, police dramas, critically-acclaimed movies, and everything in between.

She began her career playing Mary’s studious daughter Brenda in the popular 1980s sitcom 227, and has since consistently balanced working in film and TV.

Before starring as the Detective Roman in Caught Stealing, Regina gained international fame for her role in 1996’s Jerry Maguire. She then landed roles in huge 90s films like Enemy of the State, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and the Disney remake of Mighty Joey Young.

Her career skyrocketed again when she earned critical acclaim and the Academy Award for her role in 2018′s If Beale Street Could Talk.

TV viewers who miss her big screen work may have seen her in recent dramas like HBO’s Watchmen or Seven Seconds on Netflix.

Liev Schreiber

You may not have recognised it in the moment – but yes, that was Liev Schreiber under the wig and hat in Caught Stealing.

The US actor is best known for playing the title character in Ray Donovan, both on television and in its spin-off movie.

Liev is also renowned for playing villainous roles, including his Caught Stealing gangster. His recent film roles have included The French Dispatch, Spotlight and Salt.

Superhero fans may recognise him for playing Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, while to horror fans he is known for playing Cotton in the first three Scream movies.

His most recent television role is playing Tag in The Perfect Couple on Netflix, the character married to Nicole Kidman’s Greer Garrison, and can be seen sharing an awkward dance with her and their co-stars in the opening credits.

Vincent D’Onofrio

Liev Schreiber’s brother and partner in crime in Caught Stealing is just one of the gangsters Vincent D’Onofrio has played on screen.

Disney+ viewers will likely recognise him for playing Wilson Fisk in the Daredevil TV show, the recent Daredevil: Born Again, and cameos in Marvel’s Echo and Hawkeye.

Vincent’s CV is so full it’s almost impossible to name all his appearances, but some of his most well-known roles include playing Edgar in Men In Black, Carl in The Cell, and Victor in 2015’s Jurassic World.

One of his earliest notable performances was in 1987’s Full Metal Jacket, where he played Private Leonard “Gomer Pyle” Lawrence. On TV, his recurring roles include appearing on the other side of the law as Detective Robert Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Griffin Dunne

Caught Stealing shares DNA with Martin Scorsese’s forgotten 1985 masterpiece After Hours, so it’s nice to see Griffin Dunne back in the world of late-night New York jaunts.

As well as After Hours, Griffin also appeared in 1981′s An American Werewolf in London and, more recently, Ocean’s 8, Dallas Buyers Club, and The French Dispatch.

Meanwhile, TV watchers may recognise Griffin, whose character Paul owns the bar central to Caught Stealing, from his appearance as Prof. Dudenoff in Only Murders In The Building or for his recurring role as Nicky Pearson in This Is Us.

Carol Kane

Carol Kane makes a small – but certainly memorable! – appearance as Bubbe in Caught Stealing, as the film stops the action to enjoy a family dinner.

She’s been considered an icon of stage and screen ever since her breakout role in 1975′s Hester Street. Carol usually plays eccentric but caring maternal figures, much like Bubbe, who just wants to feed her guests.

Among her most notable projects are Taxi and the Netflix comedy The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, as well as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Addams Family Values and Gotham.

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny, who plays the gangster Colorado in Caught Stealing, is better known as a successful rapper and singer.

The Grammy winner – whose legal  name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – has had a varied career which also includes appearing at Wrestlemania 37 and wrestling in the 2022 Royal Rumble.

Aside from his hugely successful music career, he has moved into acting in recent years. He made his film debut in 2021 in F9, before appearing as one of the many villains battling Brad Pitt in Bullet Train and playing Oscar in the recent Happy Gilmore 2. He also had a recurring role on Narcos: Mexico.

Action Bronson

While Action Bronson plays bar regular Amtrak in Caught Stealing, you are probably more likely to recognise him as a rapper or TV host. He has had his own Viceland food show and talk show, alongside making comedy documentaries like Traveling the Stars: Action Bronson

Caught Stealing is Action’s first real acting role, although he has had small parts in The King of Staten Island and a cameo as a coffin salesman in the Netflix epic The Irishman.

Will Brill

Will’s performance as Jason, the homeless man outside Hank’s apartment, is brief, but certainly sticks in your mind.

He is best known as Scott in the underrated Netflix sci-fi show The OA, but also played Noah in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel alongside Lois Lane herself, Rachel Brosnahan, and Roy Cohn in Fellow Travelers, as well as small arcs in Elementary and Gotham.

Tonic The Cat

Finally, the true scene-stealer of Caught Stealing is Tonic the Cat.

The fluffy Siberian forest cat has taken over the press tour with his attitude and red carpet presence – and this is not his first time at the Hollywood rodeo.

At just a year old, Tonic he landed his first role in the 2019 remake of Pet Sematary. He later starred in the 2023 slasher, Thanksgiving where he acted his paws off reacting to the gory deaths of his co-stars characters.
