Hilary Duff may have been an it-girl to a whole generation, but she had her own icons.
On Monday, March 9, Duff, 38, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the two reminisced about the actress’ days as Lizzie McGuire. Fallon noted how obsessed Disney Channel viewers became with the show and character before asking Duff who was the center of that kind of obsession for her growing up.
“I mean, the Olsen twins,” she replied, to applause from the crowd.
“Come on! ‘Brother for sale?’ Brother for sale, only 50 cents!” she continued. “And when they were spies, like twin sister spies.”

Duff recalled her VHS collection featured several classics starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and revealed she even got to meet them when she was older.
“I’m about to drop a lot of names here,” she laughed, as she explained, “I met the Olsen twins at Aaron Carter‘s birthday party, pre us dating.”
“I was like, ‘I have arrived. I’ve made it. Both of the Olsen twins are here.’ It was crazy,” she shared.
Duff shouted out a few other favorite shows, including Clarissa Explains It All, which starred Melissa Joan Hart, and The Secret World of Alex Mack, which starred Larisa Oleynik.
The singer’s daughters also have their own fan favorites, as she revealed during her recent appearance on Call Her Daddy.
Duff shares her daughters — Townes, 21 months, Mae, 4, and Banks, 7 — with husband Matthew Koma, and she’s also mom to son Luca, 13, with ex Mike Comrie.
“Banks is a Lindsay Lohan stan,” laughed Duff, who said her 7-year-old “obviously doesn’t know” the two feuded as teen stars.
Mae is also fascinated by Lohan, particularly in The Parent Trap. “My 4-year-old is very like, ‘How? But how? How did you do that?’ ” Duff said of her daughter Mae’s confusion over Lohan playing two characters in the 2003 movie.
“[Mae] just watched it on a plane. And when it was over, she was sitting next to my assistant, and she goes, ‘Again,’ ” joked the mom of four.
