Bryan’s legal troubles began in 2020 after an argument with his girlfriend. He pled guilty to menacing and fourth-degree assault with additional charges, felony strangulation, misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and interfering with making a police report, which were dismissed. He received a three-year probation sentence and was required to take part in a batterer intervention program.
However, in 2023, he was arrested for a domestic violence incident. He pled guilty to felon assault in the fourth degree consistuting domestic violence. Yet again, he received a probation sentence, ordered to spend 36 months under supervisions. Plus, he was jailed for seven days. Further, he was warned that if he violated his probation, he’d be given prison time.
The probation was not set to expire until 2026, meaning prison time is a possibility if he is found guilty of the alleged crime.
In early 2025, Bryan was arrested yet again and charged with second-degree domestic violence. According to an incident report viewed by OK! Magazine, Bryan allegedly punched a woman not directly identified in the report multiple times and threatened to kill her.
In addition to the physical violence charges, Bryan faced a myriad of allegations over the years, including financial obligations and DUIs.
Bryan’s career began before he hit the television screen, appearing in local advertising. However, he eventually landed the golden role of the eldest Taylor child in ABC’s Home Improvement. Throughout his tenure on the show, Bryan also booked a variety of gigs, including on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Veronica Mars.
He retired from acting in 2009, but started a seemingly now–defunct production company called Lost Lane.
Bryan shares four children with his ex-wife, Carly Matros. With Cartwright, he shares three children. Bryan’s private life was put further on display when one police reported suggested he shared at least one child with an undisclosed woman.
