According to China Times, as cited by Znews, Jacky drew attention with the release of a documentary on Dec. 9 in which he reflects on his life from childhood. In the film, he became emotional while recalling what he described as the chaos of the entertainment world and the intense pressure it has placed on him.

“I grew up in an incredibly complicated environment,” Jacky said in the documentary. “Since childhood, I have been surrounded by the entertainment circle, so I’ve encountered all sorts of complicated people. That’s why I don’t want to become like them. I find them scary, truly.”

Responding to Jacky’s remarks, Tibetan influencer and entrepreneur Ding Zhen, who also appears in the documentary, said: “When you encounter such complicated things, you have to be able to withstand them. That’s the most important thing.”

The two later traveled to various locations in Tibet, sharing reflections and insights gained during the journey.

Jacky, 41, received significant industry support when he entered show business, enabling him to collaborate early in his career with A-list stars such as Jet Li, Tony Leung, Fan Bingbing, Huang Xiaoming, Angelababy, and Louis Koo, according to QQ.

He has appeared in films including “From Vegas to Macau 3,” “Investiture of the Gods,” “Call of Heroes,” “The Warlords” and “Huo Yuanjia.” Despite these roles, his acting career has yet to achieve major critical acclaim.

His father Charles, 77, founded Win’s Entertainment in the 1980s and later established China Star Entertainment, a leading Hong Kong-listed production company that played a pivotal role in the rise of film icons such as Jet Li, Chow Yun Fat, Stephen Chow, Andy Lau and director Johnnie To, according to Variety.

In 2022, the South China Morning Post estimated Charles’s net worth at US$1.2 billion.
