The Emmys are almost here!
Following last year’s duo of ceremonies (the 2023 awards were moved to January 2024 due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, while the 2024 Emmys were held as usual last September) it’s shaping up to be an exciting awards cycle, with the potential for a number of historic moments.
Both Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese and iconic actor Harrison Ford are up for their first Emmy awards for The Studio and Shrinking, respectively, while Adolescence’s Owen Cooper (up for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series) and Matlock’s Kathy Bates (nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series) have already made their marks as the youngest and oldest nominees ever in their categories. The Last of Us’s Bella Ramsey has also locked in a moment in Emmy history with their second nomination for the series, making them the first openly non-binary performer to receive multiple Emmy nominations.

How to Watch
The Emmys will air on CBS and on streaming via Paramount+ from the Peacock Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14. The ceremony will start at 5 p.m. pacific/8 p.m. eastern, with red carpet coverage beginning as early as 3 p.m. pacific/6 p.m. eastern.
Who is Hosting?
Comedian Nate Bargatze will be hosting the event for the first time. While that might sound like plenty of pressure for a performer, Bargatze was also up for two awards himself this year—for outstanding variety special and for writing on his Netflix special, Your Friend, Nate Bargatze, though he ultimately didn’t take home the gold (the awards were handed out a week before the Primetime Emmys in an untelevised ceremony.)
“It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world,” Bargatze said when his hosting duties were announced.
